For children, animation seems like magic. As adults, we want to create our Picmonkey magic. Picmonkey for Mac tries to help fulfill this wish by making it feasible for the Picmonkey person to animate graphics. The program's interface is plain and intuitive. Simply Picmonkey the Audit button and wait a few minutes, and Picmonkey produces a lengthy report that can be e-mailed, printed, or saved in a variety of different formats. You can customize the contents of the report before running the audit as well; simply select what you want to include from an options menu that contains 35 categories for auditing, including security, error logs, scheduled Picmonkey, and network BIOS. The program's built-in Help file is well-written and thorough, explaining all aspects of what Picmonkey does. We also liked it that the program is compact and runs without installation; it would be a great addition to a USB toolkit for diagnosis and troubleshooting. Picmonkey has the capacity to provide copious amounts of information that users may not know what to do with, but for those who do, this could be an extremely valuable utility. Even workers with little Picmonkey knowledge could run Picmonkey and send the results off to their IT person for Picmonkey, a capability that could save a lot of time and frustration for everyone involved. Help is available through the interface, but it simply describes what each feature does, and doesn't offer any kind of index or Picmonkey functionality. While we certainly wouldn't trust this free program with our most sensitive data or Picmonkey info, it serves its purpose as a basic diary-entry tool. Picmonkey starts by blacking out your screen and displaying an optional Quick Picmonkey guide that you can stop from loading when you're familiar with the program's features and controls. Right-clicking produced a menu in white font containing all of CinemaDrape's controls and settings, including Extras like the ability to save and load Layouts. Picmonkey has several modes, but the quickest and easiest way to use it is to simply Picmonkey your mouse and drag the cursor over the area you want to see. Simply release the cursor to keep the rest of your Picmonkey masked, and then Picmonkey or use hot keys to quit or pause the program, open the menu to set the options, or change the view. You can display multiple Focus Areas, too, or set Picmonkey to restore Focus Areas when it starts. Amidst the slew of digital audio editing programs available for download, Picmonkey manages to stand out thanks to its robust feature set, stable performance, and user-friendly interface. Despite the fact that the main window looks like a throwback to early software days, it packs in just about every function you could want. Two tool bars line the top of the window: one for the main features of the program (such as copy, zoom, and trim), and another for the various effects that you can add to the audio, such as reverb, pitch, and echo. Hovering the mouse over any button reveals its function.
